A Doorway Opens...

''Eleventh Hour' consists of Anthony Gabriele- vocals & guitar, Anselmo Gadraj- drums & vocals, and Whitney Miller- bass, violin, & vocals... The birth of the group came about shortly after the latest of many projects Anthony and Junior were involved in disbanded. In a year filled with many personal setbacks and annoyance with all the failed band lineups, Anthony began writing the initial songs on guitar not really knowing what would come of them. Upon hearing them, Junior jumped right in and began playing along, adding much needed dimension and dynamics to the basic, vocal based foundation of the songs. After hearing the final result they decided to form what is now 'Eleventh Hour,' abandoning the sounds of projects left behind and keeping the music as stripped down and rhythm oriented as possible. At first, trying to stay true to the personal nature of the songs, they played them on an acoustic guitar and a sparse drum kit. But after playing just one show at 'The Saint' in Asbury Park, NJ, they decided, based on their gut feelings and reaction to the songs, that they needed to expand upon their initial idea. So they began playing the songs on an electric guitar and a full drum kit realizing that this change would give the material even more power. After making this change, they realized they needed to expand their sound even further and added long time friend Whitney Miller to the fold to assume violin, bass, and additional vocal duties. So now with Anthony in new territory being on guitar full time along with his lead vocals, as well as Whitney adding a new touch with her rhythmic, low-end bass sound and vocals, and Junior hitting harder and showing more dynamic then ever before, the sound of the band began to take shape. Showing influence from punk, blues, and plain old rock'n'roll, their dark yet positive songs began to take on many faces, and their live show has begun developing into a dark and frantic mood at some points then randomly switching to joy by adding a few choice cover tunes. With Anthony running into things and switching off on vocals with Whitney (who has begun kicking annoying crowd dwellers) and Junior assuring the bottom never falls out, it proves to be quite an experience to see them hit the stage. They have just put out a self-titled 4-song EP and already played numerous shows in the NY/ NJ area including The Saint in Asbury Park, NJ and 2 dates at the legendary CBGB's to support it. They also have played The Sidebar in Baltimore, MD supporting Thee Merry Widows from CA. and have more recently headlined a show at The Pegasus Lounge in Tampa, FL. They just finished up a gig at The Continental in NYC, and have 2 more coming up at CBGB's and The Pussycat Lounge As they continue their vow to bring music to any venue that will have them.. So be on the lookout!
